Armageddon Expo~!

Ahhh, damn. It's been a while since I blogged. I don't even have a decent excuse this time. In short, the reason is laziness. I'm not sure why, but recently I've been feeling extremely lethargic, even more so than usual. Everything just takes so much effort, it's so tiring. I come home from school completely exhausted every day. I wake up in the morning not feeling any better. I guess it's because it's almost the end of an extremely busy year, and my final exams are coming up, and it all seems a bit much at the moment. Not that I'm actually stressing about anything, weirdly, I'm the complete opposite. I feel so chill. I think that comes with the laziness, haha. I should actually be stressing right now, though, because my first exam is in just under three weeks, and I've done minimal, if not zero, study. At least if I were stressed, I'd be putting more pressure on myself to study. Then I'd do it. Right now though, I'm just like whatever maaaan. Ehehe... Alright, alright, I'll get serious about studying... in the weekend.

So a lot has happened since my last post. Well, as much that could happen to a social recluse/vegetable like myself. It's mostly all stuff that is personal to me, though, that didn't require the need to leave the comfort of my home. Oh well! I guess the biggest thing that happened was Armageddon Expo 2012, so I'm dedicating  the rest of this post to it.

It was fantastic! Armageddon, like I've said, is about the closest my country gets to a convention. It's got gaming, comics, anime and pretty much everything geek. So I feel right at home there. It's on for three days, and usually I just go for one, but this year I decided to go for two. I think next year I'm gonna get the full three day pass, it's that wonderful. I got to wear my Gachapin kigurumi!

(Please ignore my derp XD)

My friend wore her Totoro kigurumi! (Again, ignore the derp)

It was really fun to wear, and I got asked for lots of pictures with people! At first I was a little shocked, cause I've never had someone ask me for a photo before. That's probably because I've only ever been in my normal clothes. So that was a really interesting experience! I also asked  people for photos, cause while there weren't many, there were some really cool cosplays there! My favourite person who I got a photo with was this Japanese guy. I'm not sure how old he was or what he was cosplaying, but he was so sweet and adorable I just had to have a photo with him!

Isn't he sweet? (Yet again, I am incapable of taking photos without looking horrendously derp)

This was my other favourite. ISN'T. SHE. PRECIOUS? She was the cutest cosplayer/girl I've ever seen! She was really shy, so she didn't want to look at me when I took the photo. XD

This is my friend (the Totoro girl) on the second day, with the Ice King! It was a pretty good cosplay! There were heeeeaps of Finn + Fionas, but there was also a really good Flame Princess which unfortunately I didn't get a photo of. ><

There were two giant Rilakkumas!(?)

We got photos with them later, they were dancing to Gangnam Style when we found them XD

I spent lots of money in those two days... I bought 12 volumes of manga, and three anime DVDs. But it was so worth it! I also ate too much McDonalds... it was only a 15minute walk from the venue, and all the food at the venue was way overpriced! I did do lots of walking though, so that makes up for it right? Both days were early starts, and we spent the entire day there (we were there both days until 5pm!) I had such a great time though, so I don't even care about that. There were so many people, it was so packed and noisy and crazy. Usually I'd hate that kind of thing, but I really loved it. I love being there. I feel like it's the one place where I actually belong, where I fit in. It's a place where it's okay to be myself.

So of course, now I'm left with that depressed feeling, and the thought that it's going to be a whole year until I can go again. I'm already thinking of what I want to go as next year. At first I was thinking I would just wear my kigu again, with a different coloured wig, but then I started thinking... I really want to do a Kyary Pamyu Pamyu cosplay for Fashion Monster. I probably won't be able to manage it in the end, and there's no way I could really pull it off, I mean, apart from Kyary herself, who could? I would probably look silly... but it's just a thought! Who knows, it could turn out okay, right?

And that brings me to the end of my Armageddon blog post. It was fun! Next time I'll talk about the other things that have happened in the past two weeks, but really, they all just pale in comparison to the wonder that was Armageddon.

Eternal Boyfriend~

Oh my god, I know it's such a fucking cheesy ending to the story but holy shit, man. The last chapter of Absolute Boyfriend... my feels //uglycry
I actually finished off the series just over a week ago. It was such a bitter-sweet ending! I still don't know how I feel about it. In a way it was so typically shojo, but then it also wasn't. Like, she didn't end up with the guy exactly... Sort of. It's an open ending, right. I don't think that Night will ever get fixed, and Riiko will slowly move on. I think that eventually Riiko and Soshi would end up together, even though deep down Riiko will never get over Night. Ugh, Night was so sweet. Poor Riiko, though... I felt so sorry for her! But I guess in the end it was for the best... I mean, they couldn't have been together forever. It wouldn't have worked. Old lady Riiko and eternally youthful Night? Nahh.
Wow, I feel really weird, talking about this like it actually happened/will happen. Sorry for being weird! I just get really sucked into my manga, particularly if it's shojo. Ehehe... ^^;;

ERMAHGERD I CAN'T BELIEVE I KEEP FORGETTING TO MENTION THIS.
I got a Gachapin kigurumi whooooo~! //derpdance
It seemed that Akinai Store restocked their Gachapin kigus the day after I wrote about how they were out of stock. Such an awesome coincidence! So I snapped one up pretty much straight away, and it arrived at my house exactly a week after I ordered it. I do just have a couple of things to say about, unfortunately they aren't all positive, but overall I'm very happy with it.
First and foremost, I want to talk about the material used. I knew when I ordered it that it wouldn't be a thick fleece one, because the only option was for a terry cloth one. And I knew that it would be quite thin because the material changes seasonally for some kigus (it's summer in Japan, so the material would be thinner). However, I didn't realise that it was going to be QUITE so thin. I've only worn it for less than half a day, because I'm so nervous that it's going to unravel or get riddled with holes. I swear I even saw threads starting to pull. It makes the price I paid for it seem a little bit unreasonable...
Another slight problem I have with it is his energy balls! The image on Akinai's webstore shows that these are actual balls, but on mine they are just slightly 3D printed on green spots (sorry I'm not sure how to explain it better!). I was a little disappointed with this, but then again the image does seem like it would be a fleece version of the kigu. I wish Akinai sold a fleece version too... maybe they will in winter? I'd totally consider buying a fleece one too. Then I'd have one for winter and one for summer! Sorry, that got a little off topic!
However, these issues aren't with Akinai Store, they're more to do with the manufacturer. Even so, it's still lovely! I'm so stoked to have it. I'm going to wear it to Armageddon Expo in October this year. Armageddon is the closest my lame country gets to any kind of cool expo/convention for nerdy/geeky things. I like going because there is always a Madman stall, so I can get cheap manga and anime. There are also a few cute nicknacks if you know where to look. There is a lot of vide

I'm going to see the Ghibli movie From Up On Poppy Hill tomorrow, for the International Film Festival! I'm excited! Last year we went to see Arrietty. It was the first time I'd seen a Ghibli movie with English subs rather than dubbed. I quite liked it that way, and this one will be the same, so I'm glad. And it seems like such a sweet movie!

Today I went shopping with my mum, homestay and friend/brother's girlfriend. We went to a lot of places, and I bought quite a few things, but I think I'll talk about my haul next time! This entry is getting long and I'm suuuuuper tired. I want a foot bath!

Y U NO MOVE?

I'm trying to convert a video on iTunes so that I can actually put it on to my iPod, but it's been about ten minutes and the bar hasn't moved a bit! I guess the video is quite long though.... I'll give it an hour to convert, and if it hasn't finished/even moved by then, then I'm gonna flip some coffee mugs.
*EDIT* So it finished. I had to leave it to load over-night though. It wasn't even half way done after about three hours. But it was so worth it! The video was LM.C's Nippon Budokan, the whole thing. Some lovely person uploaded the files. I am eternally grateful! I was watching it all day during school. Because who actually does work on the last day of term. And I almost fangirl cried so many times. I had to hold it in as best I could, because I was around people, but my feels man. All the feels. It made me want to buy the DVD even more! I definitely will, when I can afford to. It was beautiful.

So I'm thinking about scanning my Fresh Fruits book and uploading the photos. I'd only put them on my Pinterest. Yeah, I talk about Pinterest a lot... I think it's great! But I don't have a Tumblr. I don't really see the need for one to be honest, it'd just be another place where nobody cares... At least on Pinterest, I have people following my various boards, and people who are interested in the things I pin. Whoa, kind of a tangent there. Ok, so anyway, about the Fresh Fruits photos. I know there are probably already some out there, but I was thinking I'd scan the whole book, and possibly put it on the internet as a file for people to download. I got the idea when I found and downloaded the complete scans of Buru (Takeru of SuGs personal KERA book). I have since gotten a physical copy of the book, my lovely homestay student bought it for me for my birthday! But being able to look through it before I decided to go and spent money on it was really good. I just feel a little conflicted about doing it. On the one hand, there's the feeling that I'll get to share Shoichi Aoki's (and my) passion and all his wonderful findings with the netizens. But then on the other hand, I feel like it would be disrespectful to him if I just shared his hard work for free. I don't know, but either way I couldn't do it right now anyway. My scanner sucks balls, I'd need to find time to go to my dad's office or something. But it's something to think about doing... Awkward though, if someone has already done it.... Hurr durr.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO HARD TO FIND A GACHAPIN KIGURUMI? I mean really, there's a fucking surplus of Pikachu kigurumi. So why does the one that I am absolutely in love with have to be so difficult? I was going to buy one from Akinai Store, but by the time I had saved up they had sold out. I was heart shattered man. Now I can't find anywhere that sells one. All the crycry. ;___;

Well. I'm out. Going to go do more nothing. Maybe I'll see what late-night trash TV shows are on... WHOA NOT LIKE PORN KK. I meant like, Jersey Shore or something. I swear, MTV has that shit on all day erry day. It's seriously so entertaining though... Please don't brick me.
