What's Up~?

Listening to Called≠Plan. Damn they're great. I can't wait to hear their new stuff, 'V-Rap Style', was it? The preview of the single sounds awesome. Although, I was under the impression that they would be changing the band name. Not that I mind, I like Called≠Plan. I would like to know what it means, though... where did they come up with it? Oh, and the new drummer is a sweetie, isn't he? Actually, C≠P is just a band full of ikemen OHGOD I USED A JAPANESE WORDS FUCK SORRY I MEANT GOOD LOOKING DUDES. I don't like to use random Japanese words, so I'm sorry about that. Anyway, what I mean is that they're all very aesthetically appealing men... Ehh, I'm trying to describe it without being all fangirlish, but it feels too unnatural  So I'm going to stop trying to sound sensible and mature here now. I mean they're sexy. Like, fuck are they sexy. I have strong feelings towards Yuuto in particular, holy damn, I would. Even just listening to his voice through my headphones is just hnnnnn. Plus, he's actually a really sweet guy! I'm not sure if it's true, but he said that he doesn't smoke or drink alcohol. I think the part about him smoking is legit, but I dunno if he actually doesn't drink. I've convinced myself that it is true, though, because it makes me feel more comfortable about my own choices to not drink or smoke. I can feel really lonely sometimes because of it, and I feel like I'll never meet anyone else like me, but when I think how Yuuto could be the same, it makes me feel stronger. And when I read that, I fell in love with him. Of course, not real love because I don't actually know him, but you know what I mean, right? Also, at first I never used to find Rei attractive, mainly because of his smoking, but in his latest blog post I've just been like well fuCK ME SIDEWAYS. And of course, Syu is always sexy. Ehehehe, sorry about this fangirling here! I didn't actually intend to talk about them this much, but I got carried away... and now I've forgotten what else I was going to talk about!

So, it's holiday time here, and you know what that means? It's time for me to request a fucktonne of manga to catch up on! Awww yisssssss. The way this works is, during the school term, I generally don't read much manga, unless I happen to be at the library and find one I am interested in. So when it comes to the break, I request and read as much manga as I can. I just finished requesting a whole bunch of manga from my library! Hopefully I'll get most of them by Friday. I currently have 24 requested. I feel a little awkward, because that is a lot of books, but I read them very quickly, and I honestly have nothing else to do for the next two weeks, so I'm going to read as much as I can. This is how my holiday reading is looking so far;

  • Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time vol. 12
  • The Devil Does Exist vol. 10
  • Love Com vol. 9
  • Gakuen Alice vol. 14
  • Mixed Vegetables vol. 5
  • Hana-Kimi vol. 9
  • Loveless vol. 9 (Finally! Been waiting for this for months! This series was my first exposure to the wonders of BL, and I'm so excited to read it I actually can't wait~)
  • B.O.D.Y. vol. 6
  • Black Butler vol. 9
  • Bakuman vol.2
  • Library Wars vol. 2 (This one is looking to be a good one!)
  • The Tyrant Falls In Love vol.3 (Hehehe... >///<)
  • Fullmetal Alchemist vol.7
  • Honey Hunt vol.3
  • The Story of Saiunkoku vol.2
  • Hetalia vol.2
  • Naruto vol. 8 (Shhh I love Naruto ok XD)
  • Psyren vol.2 (This one is really interesting! I've only read one volume, but I really recommend it! It's almost like Gantz... But waaaay less violent and explicit.)
  • Sand Chronicles vol. 4
  • Wild Ones vol. 2
  • Heaven!! Vol. 2
  • Ouran High School Host Club vol. 6 (Already read Ouran twice, but I'm reading it again)
  • Crimson Hero vol. 3
  • Girl Got Game vol. 1 (Requested this because it's the same artist as Love Attack! and Heaven!! Love her stories, especially her take-no-shit-from-anyone main girl characters)
Yeah, most are shoujo. I've already been over this, I'm a shoujo junkie. There are a couple that aren't shoujo  though. Not that it matters to me. I regret nothing, and I have nothing to hide. Except for The Tyrant Falls In Love, the only yaoi and 18+ manga on there. But I'll only hide that from my parents and most people I know in real life.... I'm a little worried that when I go to check it out from the library, they'll see on my account that I'm not 18, and ask me to get it out from the front desk or something. Usually I use the self checkouts... I don't want them to see it, because even the cover of it is obviously guy love... Oh well, if they do I just won't get it out. I'll read it online instead. XD

I also plan to watch as much Naruto as possible these holidays, to finally fill in all the gaps in my knowledge once and for all. No, I haven't seen every single episode. I've seen large chunks, but there are also chunks that I haven't watched yet. So I'm hoping to watch all of the original series. As for Shippuden, well... I'll say that I'm quite a way behind on that one... maybe next holidays I'll try catch up on that...

Oh wait, my next holiday isn't really a holiday. Because after this break, I only have three more weeks left of high school. Then it's three weeks of studying and final exams, and then... I'm free? My school life will be over until I go to Uni... but it's not really the same kind of student. Wow. Shit. Ok. It hadn't quite hit home yet. I still don't think it has. I just can't imagine not being at school anymore. I know I say that I hate it and everyone there, but honestly I'm not looking forward to leaving. Because there are people I will miss. Mostly, the Japanese students who have been here for two years and who I have become friends with. Also because, I'm gonna have to grow up. And I definitely don't want to do that. Ahh, I guess I'll think about all that when the time comes. No point worrying about it now.

I'll leave it at that today. I'm still not happy with how my writing is... I feel like it will be painful for people to read. I'm sorry, and as always, I'll try harder next time~!

Capped~!

My internet is freaking capped! Somehow we managed to use up 100% of our data block within three weeks. I don't know exactly how much we get each month, but it's a fair amount. So I really don't know how it's already been used up, with one week left before we get our monthly block. I haven't been doing any excessive downloading or anything. I downloaded a couple of singles here and there, but nothing too major... Oh. Wait. Shit. As I was writing that I remembered that I downloaded LM.C's Nippon Budokan... that must have taken up quite a bit of internet. Damn, whenever our internet caps early, it always seems to come down to me and my downloading. I'm actually surprised that my internet provider hasn't sent me warning letters about illegal downloading. That's how it is in my country. If you're caught downloading things illegally, they send you a warning letter. Then if you're caught again, you get another warning letter. If you're caught a third time then it's a $15,000 NZD fine. But so far, I haven't even gotten a warning. I guess it's because I don't download all the mainstream shit, music and movie wise. I think that's what they're looking out for. Ahh, I just reread that and it makes me sound really hipster! I don't mean it in that way! I just don't listen to you know, Lady Gaga and such, because, well... Yeah, I think western pop music is shit. Mehhh I wasn't planning on getting into a musical debate with myself here, and I know that's a poor explanation that would get me bricked, but I'm gonna leave it at that for now.

So far, none of the books that I requested from the library have arrived! I know it's only been two days, but they only have to transport the books from different places within the same city! But I was really hoping that at least a few of them would be ready for pick up today... that means I'm not going to be able to get them until Monday. Phooey. I went to the library today anyway, just to check out what manga they had. Usually my local library is pretty crap when it comes to the manga section (by section I mean one or two small shelves), but today I had some good finds! They had volume one of Bakuman, so I was particularly stoked about that! I've been wanting to read it for a long time now. I also picked up volume three of Absolute Boyfriend. Gahh, I know, I know. I'm such a girl... But I can't help it! Shoujo manga is so addictive! I was pleasantly surprised to find volume three, because that was the next one I had to read. Feels like fate, doesn't it? I also got out another Shojo Beat manga that I've never heard of called Library Wars. It doesn't sound like a typical shoujo story, so I'm looking forward to reading it. I've actually already read Bakuman and Absolute Boyfriend, so that one is next! I just realized that I've been talking about manga a lot lately... maybe too much. I'm sorry! ><

I feel like I'm just verbally spewing onto this blog. It doesn't seem to have much structure. I'm kind of just talking... I don't use the backspace key in my blogs unless I make a spelling or grammar mistake, or if I want to rearrange the order of a sentence. I rarely delete what I have written purely because I change my mind. Once it's down, it's down, no holding back. I like to think that it makes my blog more honest, but it probably just makes it really painful and dull to read. I'm rambling a lot today especially... again, I'm sorry! I'll try harder to give what I write more direction and fluidity!

Watching Naruto Shippuden reruns on Cartoon Network. I've lost count of how many times I've watched the first fourty or so episodes because Cartoon Network here is crap and that is all they have of the series right now. I have watched more online, but I'm still miles behind. I was planning on catching up in my break, but... capped internet is capped, remember? And also, I prefer to watch Naruto with English dub. Yes, shoot me now, I actually don't mind the English dub of something~ It seems like a crime to watch anime with English dub.... Anyway, that's how I started watching Naruto, it's how I've always watched it, and I probably will always watch it dubbed. I just can't get used to Japanese voices this late into it, you know? I'm so used to the characters voices, it feels weird to watch it in Japanese. That's just me, though.

See, more rambling! I need a filter or something... Ok, I'm done for today. Sorry for a boring post~

Well, This Didn't Work Out.....

So much for updating often. I suck at this! Ok. From now on, we're not going to make any unrealistic goals. I'll update when I update, whether it be every night, once a week, or every few months. I'm ashamed to admit that I had actually forgotten that this exsisted. I'm sorry...! So yes, anyway, with this new, more achieveable (is that even a word? Is that how you would spell it? It's too early for this!) goal, I think it's time for a new start. Hello Blog, my name is Melissa, and I will update you whenever I can be fucked. :D

For this first entry in my new start, I wanna talk about manga. Shugo Chara!, to be exact. Gather round kiddies, and listen (or not) to what I have to say.

Ok. So this morning I finished reading the Shugo Chara manga (and Shugo Chara Encore), and as expected I loved it. I came across it when looking for something cute and shoujo. Yes, I like shoujo, I'm a girl, do the math. I was surprised at how short it was, actually, it only took me about a day to read it. So anyway, I found that it's quite similar to Fruits Basket (for those who don't know me, Fruba is my most favourite manga in the whole entire time/space continuum). There's the super adorable heroin (Amu - Tohru), who always knows something wise to say to anyone to make them feel better. There's the prince character, who I personally don't care much for (Tadase - Yuki), and there's a mysterious cat character who at first doesn't get along with the prince because of some past event which is found out later in the story, and then near the end they become closer (this would be Ikuto - Kyo). I do realize that all shoujo is like this, but this one just seemed more similar. The whole slightly supernatural/magical element also gave me this idea. Anywho! Does anyone else think it's weird how the anime has more episodes that the manga has chapters? Isn't it usually ther other way round? It just seems weird to me....

So, favourite/least favourite characters? I'll start with favourite. If you know me, you'll know that I always fall for the mysterious one, the cat as such. I totally adore Ikuto, he was amazing. I was so happy that he (practically, almost, kinda, sort of) ended up with Amu rather than Tadase. I don't know what it is, maybe I'm just a cat person, considering my favourite Fruba character is Kyo. If you haven't already guessed, my least favourite character was Tadase. I know, I know, it seems incredibly biased, but I think that I genuinely just don't like him. From the first chapter I never liked him, he just didn't stand out to me. And then when he told Amu that he liked Amulet Heart, I was like, WTF you jerkface! After that chapter, he just seemed more and more pathetic to me as the story went on, and he began to really irritate me, like the stupid kid he is. He won't lose to Ikuto my ass, that useless little runt has no chance! Ah, ehm, sorry for any offence caused with this. Super mega fangirl who sometimes reads way too deep into her manga here! And what was with that super crazy mind blowing totally shocking plot twist with Easter's Gozen being just a little boy! The little boy that Amu had met in the street not that much earlier! I was like, HOLYJESUSWHATTHEHELLMYMINDHASBEENBLOWNEXPLOSIONDEAD. I seriously did not see that coming. I don't know where I got the idea from but I thought that Tsukasa might have been Gozen. Weird, I know. I also thought that the little boy had the Embryo. Speaking of the Embryo, the Guardians wasted all their time trying to find/save the Embryo from Easter, when the whole time the Embryo was something that every child has, the Embryo was the heart egg? That would have been bummer for Easter, not to mention the Guardians and everyone else involved. So yes, this is my story, and I'm sticking with it. In short, Shugo Chara was amazing, it's made it's way into my top three (So now it's Fruba, Ouran and Shugo). I'm even thinking of doing an Amu cosplay, cause she is just too cute!

However, I am aware that there is many more mangas out there for me to read. So, I go out on my quest to read and enjoy more wonderful manga! Also, my neck is starting to hurt.... I need a neck pillow.
